UN Commemorative Stamps

A series of three illustrations commemorating World Oceans Day

These collectible UN Postal Administration stamps commemorate World Oceans Day which takes place on June 8th. To support ocean conservation efforts, these illustrations feature three different ocean zones that are major contributors to the world's ecosystem. The kelp forests produce a large percentage of the world's oxygen, coral reefs are hugely diverse and preserve shoreline, and the ocean floor is where all the carbon captured by dead ocean life is released back into the ecosystem. To capture the importance of these ocean environments the illustrations use a semi-realistic style and fine, colored line art to depict the vibrant wildlife.
